What You Should Know About Installing A Jetted Tub
Framing: There are two different ways we can install your jetted tub and the type of tub you choose can decide which installation method we’ll need to use for your project. The first option is for jetted tubs that have mounting flanges designed to be fastened to the wall studs. These tub frames are large enough to provide a base for the tub to rest on and a frame along the outside edge (face) so you can install finishing material, such as tile.
The second installation option is a top-setting tub. For this type of installation a mounting platform is constructed for the tub to sit upon. This option offers more flexibility in how large you make the base for your tub and it can also be finished with the material of your choice, which is usually tile.
Electrical Wiring: With a traditional bathtub you don’t really have to worry about electrical wiring. With a jetted tub you have a motor that runs the jets and it’s going to need electrical hooked up with an outlet inside of the tub framing (so you don’t have an exposed cord). This outlet must be a GFCI (ground fault interrupt circuit) as these are safer to use in situations where moisture can be an issue.
